Crowdfunding is slowly but surely becoming a complementary source for funding, especially since 1 February 2017 with the application of the Belgian Crowdfunding Act of 20 December 2016. Combined with tax incentives provided by the Belgian authorities for start-ups or not-for-profit projects, it becomes an interesting mechanism to collect funds through an accredited online platform.

Julie Borgerhoff has an extensive knowledge of all legal aspects related to crowdfunding and assists to determine the contractual relationships between the project holder and the investor, the project holder and the crowdfunding platform, and the investor and the crowdfunding platform.
